Located on the verge of Saltenfjord, with views of Saltstraumen bridge and the mid night sun (the Northern Lights and stars at wintertime) - we guarantee you an experience in relaxation you will not forget. For those seeking the ultimate wind-down following a day in the mountains or perhaps some strenuous hours on the fjord, the minerals of the Saltenfjord water we use in our Hot Tubs is guaranteed to ease those tired muscles. And while you kick back with perhaps a nicely chilled glass of your favourite wine, let the sound and sight of the nature take your breath away. The magic of Tuvsjyen can be enjoyed in both summer and winter. In the summer you will have the Midnight sun. A backdrop of the most spectacular reds, oranges and hues of blue that have captured the imagination of artists from around the world. This is the time when you can also witness the local porpoise or "Nise". As you sit back in the tub you will hear the intermittent hiss of the Nise as they take in more air ready for the next dive in their daily hunting expedition up the fjord. And if the fancy takes you, you can join them by taking a refreshing plunge in the cool summer waters of Saltenfjord. In the winter you can also relish the 40 degree heat of the tub whilst the air temperature goes down to perhaps minus 12 degrees. Simply pull your hat down over your ears and enjoy the warm water in good company. If it is dark, you may be lucky enough to witness the Magic of the Northern Lights. This is an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life as one of the most spectacular displays of nature one can possibly witness. We also guarantee a warm and cosy atmosphere with oil-fired lights and a Bon Fire. And when you decide that you want to dry off for the night you can use the changing facilities at Tuvsjyen. Alternatively - at additional cost we will have a Lavvu (Round tent with internal fire used by Reindeer herders of old) waiting for you with an open fire and Deer Skins on the floor to ensure you stay warm. If you need anything else to complete the perfect day, just ask. The Hot Tub lends itself to combining with many other activities. After a day on the fjord you can prepare your catch over an open fire, perhaps in a Lavvu and thereafter dive into the Tub for something good to drink. You can use the tub as an end to one of many different activities we offer, both on and off the water. Fishing, Diving, Boating of various kinds, Hiking or perhaps Cross Country Skiing in the mountains. And if you would like to know more about the history of where you are staying, we can tell you some of the stories about the local Stone Age and Viking history. Food and beverages are an important part of any activity and so your hosts at Tuvsjyen will endeavour to see that your needs are catered for in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.
